Warner McFarland, Veterinanian at Carbon County Veterinary Hospital

Warner McFarland, D.V.M.

Dr. Warner McFarland grew up along the banks for the Missouri River in Fort Benton, Montana. His father, Bill, was a veterinarian in Fort Benton, Montana. In his clinic he was able to grow up watching his father and aspired to have his own practice one day.

He attended Carroll College in Helena, Montana where he earned his B.A. in Biology. In 1993 he graduated from Colorado State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. After completing veterinary school, Dr. McFarland practiced in Bozeman, Montana. In 1994, he joined the Rawlins Veterinary Clinic as an associate. In 1995, He and his wife, Amy, purchased the practice and have directed the growth of the practice ever since.

Dr. McFarland is an active member of the Wyoming Veterinary Medical Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Association of Equine Practitioners. Dr. McFarland is a past president of the Wyoming Veterinary Medical Association. He also served as a Wyoming representative in the American Veterinary Medical Association House of Delegate. He holds licenses to practice Veterinary Medicine in Wyoming and Colorado.

Dr. McFarland is committed to serving the Carbon County community. He enjoys all aspects of Veterinary Medicine and strives for the very best care for his patients. Dr. McFarland likes the problem-solving aspects of Veterinary Medicine. His special interests are in soft tissue surgeries, orthopedic surgery, including plating, and cruciate ligament repair and total hip replacements. He has a special interest in client education. He enjoys working with all species, from fur to feathers and scales to everything in between. He takes pride in caring for all our best friends!

In his time away from the hospital, Dr. McFarland enjoys spending quality time with his family. He also likes to go fishing, boating, and bird hunting. He looks forward to teaching his granddaughters how to fish. Additional family members of the McFarland clan include Jenna and Dottie, 2-year-old Duetsch Draathars.


Amanda Shively, Veterinanian at Carbon County Veterinary Hospital

Amanda Shively, DVM

Dr. Shively was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana. She attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, earning her Bachelor’s in Animal Science in 2012 and Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2015. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Wyoming Veterinary Medical Association. We were thrilled to welcome her to the clinic in June of 2015.

While she loves the time spent in the clinic caring for our small animal companions, she is impassioned by her work done outside of the clinic with large animals. Her favorite day would be a day spent in the Wyoming air doing cattle work.

In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, horseback riding, and cooking Cajun cuisine. Embracing all that Wyoming has to offer, she has also become an avid hunter, snowshoer, and shed hunter. She loves exploring this dynamic state with her husband and son. Dr. Shively and her family share their home with their 3 dogs, Lunchbox, Leo and Raini.


Lorna McPeek, Veterinanian at Carbon County Veterinary Hospital

Lorna McPeek, DVM

Dr. Lorna McPeek grew up on a small farm in both Colorado and Kansas. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Newman University in Wichita, Kansas and worked for 2.5 years as a Registered Nurse on an oncology unit and a medical unit. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2017 from Kansas State University, and worked for a year in Alliance, Nebraska at a mixed animal practice.

In 2018 Dr. McPeek moved to Rawlins to join the team at Carbon County Veterinary Hospital, where she feels very much at home. In her spare time, Dr. McPeek enjoys camping, hiking, teaching violin lessons, and teaching Youth Sunday school at the First Southern Baptist church in town. She owns a Belgian Malinois named Mazurka, a gecko, and a warren of rabbits which she raises for meat.


Jessica Schinkel, Certified Veterinary Technician at Carbon County Veterinary Hospital

Jessica moved to Wyoming after graduating with a degree in Veterinary Technology from Pima Medical Institute, in Colorado Springs, Colorado in the spring of 2011. Jessica is a Certified Veterinary Technician and a proud member of the Wyoming Veterinary Technician Association. She started her career with our hospital in the summer of 2013.

Jessica is truly passionate about her love for animals and furthering client education. In her spare time, Jessica enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and children. She makes fitness and health a priority but also enjoys cooking, hiking, hunting, reading. She is constantly working on improving her Spanish speaking ability.

She has two dogs: Hoyt, an Australian Shepherd and Mr. E, a Corgi mix. She also has two cats: Bon Bon and Chester, and she raises chickens. Always eager to learn something new, in the future she would like to return to school to continue her education and earn a degree that would qualify her to teach others how to be Veterinary Technicians.


Amy Grant, Certified Veterinary Technician at Carbon County Veterinary Hospital

Amy joined our team at CCVH in August of 2014. She attended Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington where she majored in Veterinary technology. Amy’s positivity is infectious. She is always willing to assist with a smile. She is passionate about providing excellent patient care.

Amy and her family have a Deutsch Drathaar named Brew. In her spare time, Amy enjoys baking, hiking with her dog, birdwatching, and spending time with her husband and children. Summer is her favorite season and during warm weather you can always find her enjoying the sunshine.


Larrissa Watter, Certified Veterinary Technician at Carbon County Veterinary Hospital

Larissa was born in Montana but spent most of her life in North Dakota. A calling to become a veterinary technician brought her to Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in Denver, Colorado where she graduated in 2013.

We were fortunate enough to have Larissa join our team in August of 2021. She excels in patient care and has a passion for dentistry.

In her free time, she likes to walk her dog, Stevie, around town and at nearby attractions. She also enjoys fishing and going jeeping with her husband.


Amy McFarland, Office Manager at Carbon County Veterinary Hospital

Amy was born in St. Louis. Missouri but she spent most of her childhood in Rawlins and graduated from Rawlins High School. Amy graduated from Carroll College in Helena, Montana in 1989 with her Bachelor of Arts in Health Information and Medical Records Administration. It was during her time there that she met and would later marry Warner McFarland. After college, she worked at DePaul Hospital in Cheyenne, Wyoming as the Assistant Director of Medical Records while Warner was in veterinary school.

Today, Amy shares ownership responsibilities with Dr. McFarland. She is the Office Manager at our hospital and oversees our front office team. Most of Amy’s duties are administrative but she can be found sharing in the reception activities. She enjoys interacting with pets and their owners.

Amy enjoys spending time with her husband, and their four adult children, two granddaughters, and extended family. When she has free time; she enjoys reading, watching movies, cooking, walking, fly-fishing, bird hunting, traveling/sightseeing, and taking photos. They share their home with Dottie and Jenna, a couple of 2-year-old, very spirited Duetsch Draathars.


Sherry Beedle-Hahn

Sherry was born in Colorado. Since her dad worked for an oil company, their family traveled all over the United States during her childhood. She attended many different schools until the late 1960’s when they settled in Rawlins, her mom’s hometown. Sherry has worked in business/accounting field for many years in various settings. She joined our team in August of 2011 as a bookkeeper/receptionist.

Sherry has 3 grown children all living in Carbon County along with her 4 grandchildren. When she is at home, Sherry enjoys watching old movies, reading, walking, and completing Find-A-Word puzzles. She and her husband, William, are also entertained by their two cats Pepper and Blaze.


Olivia Roybal, Receptionist at Carbon County Veterinary Hospital

Olivia graduated with a degree in Family Consumer Sciences and Human Development with a minor in early childhood education from University of Wyoming in 2017. Since then, Olivia has used her love of animals to become an integral part of the CCVH team. A true Wyoming girl, Olivia was born and raised in the area. Her Wyoming roots have given her a deep appreciation for agriculture and livestock. She uses her passions in these areas to help foster the same love in children by being the 4-H pig and dog leader as well as the State dog superintendent.
Olivia enjoys embarking on new adventures with her corgis and spending time with her family. In her spare time, she enjoys outdoor activities and could most likely be found on a ranch with her horse.


Britany Brattin, Receptionist at Carbon County Veterinary Hospital

Britany Brattin, Receptionist

Britany joined our team in October of 2021. While growing up in Rawlins, animals were always a passion that was instilled in her by her parents. Britany graduated from Rawlins High School in 2005. Britany and her husband, Trey, have two beautiful children (Trenten & TreyLynn) along with two “fur” babies (Diamond & Missy).

In her spare time, she loves camping, fishing and just generally being outside with her family and friends. She is also very community driven and keeps busy in various activities such as FC soccer, little league baseball, wrestling, football, fundraising, and supporting our local schools’ charities.

 


Leslie Boudreau, Receptionist at Carbon County Veterinary Hospital

Leslie Boudreau, Receptionist

Leslie was born and raised in Washington state and moved to Rawlins, WY in July of 2002. She earned her Associates degree in Business in 2005 and joined the CCVH team in September of 2018 as a receptionist. She has always had a love for animals and people and enjoys being in a position where she can assist both with the essential care they need.

Leslie and her husband, Ryan, have 5 children and 2 grandchildren between the two of them and share their home with 3 fur babies: a Black Lab “Bud” a Golden Lab mix “Gypsy” and a Pitbull “Mary Jane”. In her spare time, Leslie enjoys spending time with her family, watching their children play a variety of sports, camping and spending time in the outdoors, cooking and continuing her passion in herbalism.

 


Ben Ray, Hospital Attendant at Carbon County Veterinary Hospital

Ben Ray, Hospital Attendant

Ben joined our family at CCVH in August of 2021. Ben was born and raised on a farm in Kansas. He went to a community college for machine, tool, and technology degree. Ben served our county for four years in the Marine Corps Infantry. After serving he planned on returning to Kansas to work as a machinist, but God had other plans for his life, and he moved to Rawlins.

He was married in July. He and his wife, Jemimah are expecting their first child this spring and look forward to raising their family in Wyoming. In his spare time, Ben enjoys camping, hiking, shooting, gaming, and spending time with family. Ben and his wife have two Belgian Malinois: Calisto and Falco.
